A Florida homeowners’ association is forcing a woman to remove a Blue Lives Matter flag from her home because of a complaint it had received that the flag was racist.
Jeff Gaddie told WJAX that his daughter has flown the flag outside her home in St. Johns County for years, but recently the St. Johns County Homeowners Association told her that the flag did not adhere to the association’s rules and regulations.
“She called to ask why,” Gaddie said. “They told her they had received a complaint that it was considered racist, offensive and anti-Black Lives Matter.’”
The daughter was informed she could complete a special request form to fly the flag, which she did. The association then denied her request.
WJAX called First Coast Association Management, which enforces homeowners’ regulations, and asked about rules regarding flags.
The company told them the only flags that are allowed to be displayed are American and military-themed flags. However, a quick look around the neighborhood revealed some flags were neither American or military-themed.
The company added that certain portions of the neighborhood code indicate that flags cannot be displayed without approval.
Gaddie said the flag was intended to show support for law enforcement.
“We’ve got black officers, we’ve got Asian officers, we’re got every race,” he said. “I mean for them to say it’s racist, blue is not a race, it’s the furthest thing from it.”
It’s hard to disagree with him, but the anti-cop movement in America is apparently so blinded by hate that they cannot see his reasoning.
The family isn’t going to take the flag down without a fight; they plan to appeal the the decision next month during a homeowners’ association meeting.

It’s unthinkable that a Blue Lives Matter flag is considered racist and anti-Black Lives Matter, but that appeared to be case for at least one person in the neighborhood.
It makes no sense when considering the fact that the Black Lives Matter movement has been driven by racism and hatred for police.
