Even people who speculated about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s health were shocked by a recent admission of hers.
Speaking at a gala for the Children’s Defense Fund on Wednesday, Clinton looked exhausted and frail as she told the audience that she struggled to leave her house following last week’s presidential election loss, according to a story by The Daily Caller.
“Now I will admit, coming here tonight wasn’t the easiest thing for me. There have been a few times this past week when all I wanted to do was just to curl up with a good book or our dogs and never leave the house again,” said Clinton.
From private practice to senator to secretary of state, Clinton worked her entire life with the White House as her goal, only to find that the American people didn’t trust her any more than they trusted her husband.
After suffering complete humiliation on both a national and a world scale, it is safe to speculate that she is exhibiting clear symptoms of at least temporary depression.
Clinton did not ignore the elephant in the room. She made several references to her stunning election defeat to President-elect Donald Trump.
“I know many of you are deeply disappointed about the results of the election,” she said, adding, “I am too, more than I can ever express.”
Numerous insider leaks from the Clinton campaign reported that she was despondent after the defeat, so much so that she could not step onstage for the traditional speech to supporters.
At 2 a.m. on the day following the election, campaign chair John Podesta told everyone that the votes were still being counted and to “go home for the night,” when in fact Clinton was already preparing for her 2:30 a.m. concession call to Donald Trump.
Clinton had been seen outside her home only once in the past week, hiking near her home in Chappaqua, New York.
