Following his resounding victory in the second presidential debate, Republican nominee Donald Trump traveled to the all-important battleground state of Pennsylvania to address thousands of his supporters at a rally in Wilkes-Barre.
According to The Hill, Trump began going through some of the recent revelations about his Democrat rival Hillary Clinton that had been published via WikiLeaks.
His detailing of what many Americans viewed as crimes committed by Clinton prompted the crowd to begin chanting the now-common refrain, “Lock her up!“
Rather than quiet the crowd or suggest focusing on beating Clinton on Election Day, as he has been doing in response to the familiar chant over the past few months, Trump simply responded with, “Lock her up is right!”
Trump’s response was in line with his hilariously snarky reply to Clinton during the debate, during which she stated she was glad Trump wasn’t in charge of the nation’s laws.
“Because you’d be in jail,” he responded.
Prior to that laugh-inducing line, Trump had spoken of his intention to assign a special prosecutor to look into Clinton’s many scandals, should he be elected president.
Though President Barack Obama’s Justice Department and FBI declined to pursue a criminal prosecution of Clinton for her use of an unauthorized and unsecured private email server to conduct official classified business, many Americans believe that Clinton did indeed commit crimes worthy of prosecution.
It should be quite clear that, should Donald Trump become the next president, his Justice Department and FBI will not be so quick to let Clinton escape the consequences of her misdeeds.
