A tweet from President Donald Trump about Judge Jeanine Pirro’s Fox News show this weekend had many believing that the president wants House Speaker Paul Ryan to resign his position.
The tweet from the president told his followers to tune into Pirro’s Saturday show. In her opening statement, Pirro said that Speaker Ryan needed to resign because of his failure to shepherd the American Health Care Act through Congress.
“Paul Ryan needs to step down as speaker of the House,” Pirro said. “The reason? He failed to deliver the votes on his health care bill. The one trumpeted to repeal and replace Obamacare. The one that he had seven years to work on. The one he hid under lock and key in the basement of Congress. The one that had to be pulled to prevent the embarrassment of not having enough votes to pass.
“But this bill didn’t just fail — it failed when Republicans had the House, the Senate, the White House,” she added.

“And the timing? It failed within the first 70 days of President Donald Trump’s administration. A president who made replacement of ObamaCare the hallmark of his campaign. And then used valuable political capital to accomplish it.”
In spite of the uncanny coincidence, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Sunday that the president was merely showing support for a show he liked.
“He wanted to show support of her show. That’s it,” Spicer said, according to NBC News. The president, he said, “likes the show.”
Aides to Ryan also said it was “a fluke, not a conspiracy,” adding that “Speaker Ryan and the president are in a great place.”

Was it just mere coincidence, or does the president want the Republican House Caucus to take a different direction in leadership? Don’t touch that dial.
