To those supporters of President-elect Donald Trump who thoroughly enjoyed his massive high-energy campaign rallies and were disappointed by their conclusion on Election Day, fear not, for we may not have seen the last of them.
According to a piece in The New York Times posted a few days after the election, some of Trump’s aides suggested that their boss already missed the wildly popular events and hoped to be able to continue holding similar rallies during his tenure in office.
“I think Trump has discovered that these rallies are tremendous opportunities for him to get his message out,” explained Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy. “It’s actually sort of old-fashioned, that you want to actually meet people and press the flesh with him.”
Now, a week later, The Daily Caller has reported that Trump’s team is making preparations for a sort of “victory tour” of rallies in the states Trump won, most particularly the formerly blue states he was able to flip to red.
“We’re working on a victory tour now, it will happen in the next couple of weeks,” announced campaign advance director George Gigicos to pool reporters at Trump Tower on Thursday.
The tour is tentatively scheduled to begin shortly after Thanksgiving and will focus on “the swing states we flipped over” as well as the rest of the states he won.
To be sure, the Secret Service may have something to say about these plans, and it is most likely contingent upon Trump and his team still being able to address the plethora of other pressing issues that need to be handled as part of his transition to the White House.
Nevertheless, considering Trump’s tendency to be “ahead of schedule and under budget,” he probably won’t have too much trouble finding the time, energy and resources to embark on a victory tour that will be quite well received by his enthusiastic supporters.
