Trump Takes Stand For Christian Refugees… Says They Will Receive “Priority”

Trump Takes Stand For Christian Refugees Says They Will Receive Priority

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Friday that temporarily halted some of former President Barack Obama’s refugee programs and mandated “extreme vetting” for future arrivals.

Underlying this push to reform the nation’s refugee program was the president’s stated goal to first safeguard the American people from acts of radical Islamic terrorism, which during Obama’s tenure had become frequent enough to almost seem normal.

Speaking later in the day with CBN News correspondent David Brody, the president stated, however, that once the refugee programs were restarted, Christians would be given priority admission.

“They’ve been horribly treated,” he maintained. “Do you know if you were a Christian in Syria it was impossible, at least very tough, to get into the United States? If you were a Muslim you could come in, but if you were a Christian, it was almost impossible.”

He was correct. According to the Pew Research Center, 99 percent of Syrian refugees admitted into the U.S. during fiscal year 2016 were Muslim, while only a meager 1 percent were Christian. Yet as reported by CNN, Syria’s population was 87 percent Muslim and 10 percent Christian.

“I thought it was very, very unfair,” Trump added. “So we are going to help them.”

It was presumed that incoming Christian refugees would also be required to undergo the president’s “extreme vetting” measures, which the president told reporters were designed “to keep radical Islamic terrorists out of the United States of America,” as noted by Fox News.

“We don’t want them here,” he added during the signing of the executive order at the Pentagon.

During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity a day earlier, the president defended his executive order, arguing, “Right now, the FBI has over 1,000 (terrorism) investigations going on … and these are people that we let in.”

“We know nothing about them,” he said. “They can say they vetted them. They didn’t vet them, they have no papers. How can you vet somebody when you don’t know anything about them and they have no papers?”

He was right again, and it’s about time America finally had a leader in the Oval Office who recognizes this.
