Trump and Pence Go to Church Before Holding a Dozen Meetings With Potential Picks

President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence were busy Sunday holding some 12 transition meetings, but they still made time for something else that shows how different things in Washington will be during their administration.

They went to church. The two men attended the morning service of Lamington Presbyterian Church in Bedminster, New Jersey, before launching into transition meetings for the rest of the day. Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and incoming Trump Chief-of-Staff Reince Prebius also attended the service.

The church, which first opened its doors in 1740, is just two miles from Trump’s National Golf Club Bedminster, where interviews with cabinet candidates took place, reported

Members of the church greeted the president-elect. Jim Tiesi, 66, shook Trump’s hand and told the president-elect that the people of this country support him.

“I just told him that I hope he understands the country supports him and not to be distracted by the noise. He told me, ‘Thank you,’”  Tiesei told the New York Post.

After church, Trump and Pence met with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Others they met with included Ari Emanuel, the Hollywood agent who represented Trump during his “The Apprenentice” days as well as the brother of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Obama’s former chief of staff.

Trump called Ari Emanuel a “great guy, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.

Members of the congregation even gave Trump a standing ovation before he left, reported the Post.

Watch the men leave church in the video below.

It’s good to see that Trump made time for church even when he had such a busy day planned. It indicated that this country will be moving a more positive direction, which is something we can all be pleased about.
