Trump LEAVING CLINTON Behind in Iowa Poll

The Hill reported Saturday that Donald Trump is opening up a bigger gap in poll, and leaving Hillary Clinton behind.

Donald Trump has opened up a 7-point lead over his Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton in the battleground state of Iowa, according to a new poll.

Trump leads Clinton 46 to 39 percent among those who have already voted or plan to on Tuesday, according to the Des Moines Register poll released Saturday.

Another 6 percent support Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson, while Green Party nominee Jill Stein draws 1 percent support.

Trump is supported by 41 percent of independents surveyed, while Clinton has 34 percent. And Trump leads 43 to 38 percent among voters under age 35.

Other polls have indicated a tight race in Iowa. A survey from Loras College released earlier Saturday found Clinton leading the GOP nominee by just 1 point, 44 to 43 percent.

The Des Moines Register poll of 800 likely Iowa voters was conducted Nov. 1-4 by Selzer & Co. and has a margin of error of 3.5 points.
