Trump Fights Back… Dems Stunned

In a shocking new national poll taken after the Donald Trump video tape scandal hit, Republican presidential nominee Trump was shown with a national lead over Democrat rival Hillary Clinton by two points.

In the White House Watch poll by Rasmussen Reports released Friday, Trump held an edge over Clinton by a margin of 43 percent to 41 percent.

Libertarian Gary Johnson got 6 percent of the vote, Green Party candidate Jill Stein got 2 percent, 4 percent went to other candidates, and 5 percent remained somehow undecided.

The daily tracking poll showed Clinton set for a good week on Monday, after the Trump allegations began to play out. However, her lead quickly evaporated.

“Clinton held a 7-point lead on Monday — 45 percent to 38 percent — following the airing of an 11-year-old video showing Trump making graphic sexual remarks about women. But as voters began responding to Sunday night’s debate, her lead dropped to 5 points on Tuesday and 4 points on Wednesday. Trump edged ahead yesterday,” the Rasmussen report read.

“The latest survey is the first to include results following the release by The New York Times of new allegations of sexual harassment against Trump. The GOP nominee has denied the charges and has demanded that the newspaper apologize for what he calls ‘a libelous article,’” the report continues. “We’ll be watching to see what impact, if any, those allegations have on next week’s surveys.”

There could be a number of reasons behind the movement. First, Trump’s performance in the second presidential debate was significantly better than his first go at it, with many in the media declaring him the winner.

There was then the constant drip of WikiLeaks emails obtained from, among others, Clinton campaign manager John Podesta. In the emails, Hillary expressed her dislike for the phrase “everyday Americans,” the extent of the Democrats’ cozy relationship with the mainstream media was revealed, and Clinton staffers were caught making disparaging remarks about Catholics and evangelical Christians.

With all that, it’s no wonder we’re back to status quo ante. Democrats may be stunned, but they probably shouldn’t be — especially since WikiLeaks may have more surprises yet to come.
