President-elect Donald Trump wasted no time reiterating the possibility that he would terminate the 2014 deal that reopened Cuban-American relations if Havana was reluctant to negotiate a better agreement after the death of dictator Fidel Castro.
In a post to Twitter, Trump said, “If Cuba is unwilling to make a better deal for the Cuban people, the Cuban/American people and the U.S. as a whole, I will terminate deal.”
The post came not long after after news of Castro’s death hit the airwaves on Friday.
It would seem Trump’s not messing around.

Trump’s remarks indicate that he will undo the Obama administration’s diplomatic reset unless the Cuban government addresses human rights abuses and loosens limitations on freedom of speech and religion, incoming White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus told “Fox News Sunday.”
“President-elect Trump has been pretty clear. We’ve got to have a better deal,” Priebus siad.
“We’re not going to have a unilateral deal coming from Cuba back to the United States without some changes in their government,” Priebus said, according to The Washington Times.
“Repression, open markets, freedom of religion, political prisoners — these things need to change in order to have open and free relationships, and that’s what President-elect Trump believes.”
Kellyanne Conway, Trump’s campaign manager and senior adviser, spoke about Trump’s opinion on the issue of diplomatic relations being re-opened with Cuba, saying Trump said “he’d be open to that himself, but that we got nothing in return.”
“We’re allowing commercial aircraft there. We pretend that we’re actually doing business with the Cuban people now when, really, we’re doing business with the Cuban government and the Cuban military. They still control everything,” she said, according to CNBC.
It looks like Trump is staying true to his word about getting things done and fixing everything that is wrong with Obama’s “legacy,” which is nothing but good news for America and freedom-loving people across the world.
