Toby Keith Refuses to Apologize for “Performing for Our Country” at Inauguration

Toby Keith Refuses to Apologize for Performing for Our Country at Inauguration

Country singer Toby Keith has no qualms about performing at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration celebration, and for any liberals looking for him to back down, they’ll have to look elsewhere because he said he has nothing to apologize for.

“I don’t apologize for performing for our country or military,” the songwriter said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “I performed at events for previous presidents [George W.] Bush and [Barack] Obama and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO.”

The “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” singer was announced as an inauguration performer, along with The Piano Guys, Lee Greenwood, 3 Doors Down and Jackie Evancho, who will perform the national anthem.

Keith, 55, is all about American patriotism, so this comment comes as no surprise — and no doubt a delight to Trump supporters who are sick of celebrities who bash Trump.

While many performers have declined to perform at Trump’s inauguration, Keith put politics aside and decided to take a stand for the things he believes in — America and her military. And there’s nothing wrong with that. However, if you listen to the left, everything is wrong with it because they seem to hate what this country is all about.

It’s sad that so many people feel that way.

Keith has let the world know he is not one of those people.

The inauguration is just a few days away and the excitement is building to get Trump into the White House. Knowing President Barack Obama has packed his bags and will no longer be a threat to this country is reason enough to celebrate — regardless of who appears at Trump’s inauguration.
