For months, President Donald Trump and his staff have come under fire from rage-blinded liberals insisting that the Trump campaign and the Russians conspired to destroy former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
A former national security adviser under President Barack Obama, Susan Rice, has written an op-ed for The Washington Post in which she accused Trump of lying to the American people when he said the Obama administration had “wiretapped” his offices at Trump Tower during the election campaign.
“To lead effectively, the United States must maintain respect and trust. So, when a White House deliberately dissembles and serially contorts the facts, its actions pose a serious risk to America’s global leadership, among friends and adversaries alike,” Rice wrote.
Well isn’t the pot calling the kettle black.

Rice, who was the United Nations ambassador from 2009 to 2012, is probably most famous for lying to the American people about what caused the Benghazi terror attack of Sept. 11, 2012, so she probably would know a lot about “serially contorting” the facts.
The weekend after the attack, with Obama’s re-election on the line, Rice went on five Sunday talk shows and claimed that some video on YouTube criticizing the Prophet Muhammad was the real reason for the attacks — despite hard evidence that the administration knew that wasn’t the case long before she opened her mouth.
“Based on the best information we have to date, what our assessment is as of the present, is in fact it began spontaneously in Benghazi, as a reaction to what had transpired hours earlier in Cairo, where of course as you know there was a violent protest outside of our embassy, sparked by this hateful video,” she said in one of her now-infamous interviews, according to The Daily Caller.
That’s as clear a case of the White House lying to the American people as you can get, so Rice really has no business criticizing the Trump administration.
Maybe Trump’s tweets and White House press secretary Sean Spicer’s claims about wiretapping haven’t been proven to be 100 percent accurate, but at least they haven’t lied about the reasons for terror attacks that killed American citizens and diplomats.
If Rice is going to criticize anyone, she should start with herself and her former bosses. They were the ones who tried to cover up the fact that their own incompetence led to the deaths of four Americans.
That makes whatever Trump and Spicer have done look like small potatoes.
