Fox News has released a statement following reports the network fired its comptroller over allegations the network termed “abhorrent behavior.”

Judy Slater, who had spent 19 years with Fox, did not respond to calls from various news outlets for comment after Fox released its statement to the media on Friday.

“We take any complaint of this nature very seriously and took the appropriate action in investigating and firing Ms. Slater within two weeks of this being brought to our attention,” the Fox statement said.

“There is no place for abhorrent behavior like this at Fox News,” the statement said.

Both The Wrap and Variety offered similar accounts of why Slater was let go. Both sites attributed their reports to an unnamed individual who was familiar with the incident.

Slater was accused of marking derogatory comments to African-American employees at the TV network, Variety reported.

In The Wrap’s more detailed summation of the allegations against Slater, it said she was accused of asking one black employee if all three of the employee’s children were fathered by the same man.

Slater was also reportedly accused of calling black women “sista” and mocking the speech of black employees.

She also allegedly raised her hands in a “Hands up, don’t shoot” gesture when she was wished a good night by two black employees.

Both sites reported the investigation into Slater was headed by Fox News Executive Vice President of Human Resources Kevin Lord.

Fox News has had its share of personnel issues in the past year, beginning with a sexual harassment suit filed by former host Gretchen Carlson that ultimately led to the ouster of Roger Ailes.

Former on-air contributor Tamara Holder had also made sexual harassment claims in a case that was recently settled for $2.5 million and accompanied by firing of Fox News Latino VP Francisco Cortes, whom Holder had accused.

Correction: An earlier version of this report stated Fox News Channel announced Slater had been fired. We apologize for any confusion this error might have caused.
