PROOF: “Startling Discovery” in Galilee Just Confirmed CRITICAL Part of the Bible

Startling Discovery in Galilee Just Confirmed CRITICAL Part of the Bible

Among other things, the Bible is essentially a history book — and evidence from different eras and cultures has proven the Old and New Testaments to be accurate time and time again.

However, it’s always a blessing when new historical artifacts are discovered that testifies to the accuracy of the biblical account of the life and work of Jesus Christ.

In a 2016 find that has been noted as “startling” by historians, a synagogue, dating back to the exact year when the Romans took over Jerusalem in 79 A.D., has been discovered near Mount Tabor in the Nahal Tavor Nature Reserve in lower Galilee, according to Express Magazine.

“This is the first synagogue discovered in the rural part of the Galilee and it confirms historical information we have about the New Testament, which says that Jesus preached at synagogues in Galilean villages,” said Motti Aviam, a senior researcher at the Kinneret Institute for Galilean Archaeology.

There were several inscriptions found within the ruins, pointing to the fact that mostly the Torah was studied and meetings were held in the synagogue, as opposed to worship taking place. Historians called this evidence that the location would have been a prime spot for Jesus to relay the message of God.

Aviam confirmed that this startling discovery would be “very important for Christians.”

“One source mentioning synagogues is the New Testament, which states that Jesus ‘went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues,’” Aviam stated. “The New Testament describes how Jesus delivered sermons in a synagogue in Capernaum and other synagogues in the Galilee. During the same period Jesus was still a Jew who observed Jewish rituals and requirements and like many rabbis, he delivered sermons in synagogues.”

An amazing discovery that comes at a time when people need to be exposed to Christ more than ever.

In the end, people will be “without excuse” for disbelief in Jesus as fully God and fully man, and the sacrifice he made for the world.

Romans 1:20 puts it in perspective for everyone: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”

But a little archaeological backup is always appreciated, too.
