The internet is going crazy over a conversation between New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and President Donald Trump at the White House.
According to CBS News, the governor and his wife, Mary, dined with the president and Melania Trump on Valentine’s Day for lunch. Christie said Trump made him order the meatloaf during that visit, and the story has since gone viral.
Christie told the story to a New York radio sports talk show, and explained that the president had already pre-decided what Christie would eat for lunch.
“This is what it’s like to be with Trump,” Christie said. “He says, ‘There’s the menu, you guys order whatever you want.’ And then he says, ‘Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf.’”
The reason? President Trump said the meatloaf was the best thing on the menu.
“The guy eats there all the time. And the meatloaf was good,” Christie defended the president. (Considering how the rest of the week went for Christie, the Valentine’s Day meatloaf might have been the high point.)
Twitter user Matt Binder found the entire audio of Christie’s interview.
