Amidst all of the faux outrage, self-righteous indignation and overblown hyperbole surrounding Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy, a number of Hollywood celebrities and D.C. mainstays promised to leave the country if he won the election.
Now that they are facing the actual reality of President-elect Trump though, some of those same celebrities have quickly changed their tune on the matter, according to The Smoke Room.
Ultra-liberal comedienne Amy Schumer let loose with a lengthy tirade on Instagram in which she unleashed her hate-filled vitriol on Trump’s supporters, insisting she was only joking when she stated she would move out of the country if he won.
“First of all the interview where I said I would move was in London and was said in jest,” wrote Schumer. “Not that anyone needs more than a headline to count something as official news. Anyone saying pack your bags is just as disgusting as anyone who voted for this racist homophobic openly disrespectful woman abuser.”
She could have been joined on her exit out of the country by Al Sharpton, except that he has now withdrawn his promise to flee as well.
“All of us said that,” Sharpton explained to a TMZ reporter. “That was said in jest. We’re not going anywhere. Clearly, it was said in jest. If that’s the comfort they got, they might as well get ready for an uncomfortable ride.”
Pop star Miley Cyrus had threatened to “move out da country” if Trump attained the presidency, but she instead issued a tearful acceptance of Trump as the next leader of the country once the race had been called.
“Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston had stated that he would “definitely move” if the unthinkable happened and Trump won. But he has apparently changed his mind as well, though he was at least pretty classy in the manner he went about relaying that information.
Although shocked and disappointed by the outcome, I hope the pres-elect will work to unify our wounded country. I sincerely wish him success

Cranston tweeted Wednesday, “Although shocked and disappointed by the outcome, I hope the pres-elect will work to unify our wounded country. I sincerely wish him success.”
We have yet to hear from Cher or Whoopi Goldberg or any of the other devout leftists who promised to pitch a fit, pick up their toys and run away rather than deal with a president with whom they may disagree on certain issues.
If they don’t mind taking some advice from someone who has been in their position before — suck it up, deal with it and try again next time, just like conservatives and independents did in 2008 and 2012, you arrogant elitist crybabies. Now go make more movies and TV shows that we can boycott.
