First lady Melania Trump showed her generous side Thursday when she visited New York Presbyterian Hospital to read to sick children, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
The first lady, who had just returned to New York after being in Washington for her husband’s speech before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, didn’t waste any time getting the visit going.
She left Trump Tower about 11 a.m. and managed to get into the hospital without attracting much attention.
“I came to encourage you to read — and to think about what you want to achieve in life,” she told the youngsters during her two-hour stay.
According to The Washington Times, the first lady read Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!” to the sick children. When she got to a part in the story that dealt with a “slump,” she asked the children, “So sometimes you don’t feel good, right? But then — what do you do?”
“You go places where you feel better,” she said, continuing to read. “You’ll be as famous as famous can be. With the whole wide world watching you win on TV.”

Melania had done the same thing on Wednesday in Washington, where she read to children at Children’s National Hospital on Wednesday.
“Thank you for welcoming me @ChildrensHealth. My prayers and thoughts are with all of the children and families. #GROWUPSTRONGER,” she tweeted after that visit.

Reading to children at the hospital — seems pretty uncontroversial, right? Of course not! Anything that the Trumps do is fair game to the left, even if it involves sick kids. Liberal online rag ThinkProgress actually posted a piece titled (I’m really not making this up) “Melania Trump calls for the ‘gift of nature,’ not health insurance, to heal sick children.”
Yes, apparently hoping for sick children to be well isn’t a good thing if you’re not standing up for Obamacare, or something. Unbelievable.
I’m halfway surprised nobody on the left called her out for “appropriating” Dr. Seuss, since Theodor Geissel, the real name of the beloved writer, was a political liberal.
I probably shouldn’t have mentioned that, though. I’m pretty sure I just gave a HuffPo writer an idea.
