For a party that incessantly complains about President Donald Trump’s mythical ties to the Russians, the Democrat Party might want to look in the mirror.
According to a report from The Daily Caller, Russian diplomat Sergey Kislyak, who has served as his nation’s ambassador to the U.S. since 2008, visited former President Barack Obama at the White House no less than 22 times between 2009 and 2016:
Kislyak appeared in the logs as recently as September 2016 when he had a meeting scheduled with one of Obama’s senior advisers, John Holdren, in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building …
Kislyak was also listed on the logs in July 2016, March 2016, January 2016, August 2015, April 2014, February 2014, May 2013, February 2013, November 2012, December 2011, July 2011, December 2010, October 2010, May 2010, April 2010, February 2010, March 2010, December 2009 and September 2009.
Uh oh. Perhaps we should start an investigation? Probably not, since the president’s meetings with a key ambassador were perfectly normal.
Would you like to know what else was perfectly normal? Former Sen. Jeff Sessions meeting with Russian diplomats in 2016, as per his duties on the Armed Services Committee.
Yet the fake-news-touting liberal media would have us believe differently, as they have recently begun accusing Sessions of having conspired with the Russians to affect the outcome of the 2016 presidential election or some such malarkey.
And all this because when he “was asked in his confirmation hearing if he met with the Russians as part of his role as a Trump campaign surrogate… He said no,” as noted by Conservative Review contributor Robert Eno.
“Now it has come to light that Sessions spoke with the Russian ambassador twice during 2016,” Eno continued. “Both times were in his capacity as a senator, not as a Trump campaign actor or representative.”
Ergo, there is nothing to see in so-called #SessionsGate, just like there was absolutely nothing to see in Kislyak having visited Obama at the White House at least 22 times.
See what I did there? I presented the news with honesty and objectivity by admitting that both stories are veritable nothing-burgers. Had I been a hack, I would have tried to attack Obama over Kislyak’s visits, all while I defended Sessions over his meetings with Russian diplomats. But thankfully, I am not a hack.
The same cannot be said of the liberal media, which have chosen, as usual, to only present the narrative that best suites their Democrat-aligned interests.
And yet amazingly enough, the media still wonder why nobody takes them seriously.
