Outspoken conservative and Hall of Fame football coach Mike Ditka just weighed in on former President Barack Obama’s presidency, and he couldn’t be more right.
In an interview on WABC Radio’s “The Bernie and Sid Show” Thursday, the former Chicago Bears player and coach talked politics and said he’d be surprised if President Donald Trump could mess things up half as much as Obama did.
When asked about Trump, Ditka said he was the “best” man and the “best qualified” to run the country.
“I think he’ll do a great job for Americans. There’s a lot of people out there who don’t think that. But we’ll have to wait and see. Let him do his job first. If he can possibly screw it up nearly half as much as Obama, I’ll be surprised.”
While what he said is funny, it’s also true. Obama did so much to hurt this country that not many people could top him — except perhaps former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Ditka has criticized Obama before, calling him the worst president this country has ever seen.
Ditka also weighed in on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his national anthem protests, saying that he would have kicked Kaepernick (or any player who protested the anthem) off his team.
Still hitting as hard as he did in his playing days, Ditka also said that those criticizing New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for not disavowing his friendship with Trump were “a**holes.”

He added that there will always be disagreements but that they are part of what makes America great.
Ditka’s portion of the interview begins at about 1:20:40 below (WARNING: Language may be offensive to some.):
It’s nice to hear someone tell it like it is, and no one does it quite like Ditka.
