Lawmaker Introduces “Suck It Up, Buttercup” Bill Targeting Anti-Trump Protesters

If you’re sick and tired of crybaby university liberals who need to use your taxpayer dollars to fiddle around with coloring books and Play Doh because their candidate lost the election, don’t worry: there might be a law for that.

According to the Des Moines Register, an Iowa Republican state representative is set to introduce a law that would impose harsh penalties on any state college or university that uses money for election-related “cry rooms” or safe-spaces for students, or any “sit-ins and grief counseling above and beyond what is normally available to students.”

But perhaps the best thing about it is what Rep. Bobby Kaufmann is calling the legislation: the “Suck it Up Buttercup” bill. That’s just one of the things that has liberals absolutely stunned at Kaufmann is doing.

The bill, which will be introduced when the legislature reconvenes in January, would also establish harsher penalties for the frequent liberal tactic of blocking highways to show displeasure.

“That’s a waste of taxpayer dollars and that also doesn’t prepare kids for life. In life, there’s winners and losers and when your car breaks down, your kids get sick or you have to take a second job to pay your mortgage, you don’t get to go to a cry zone, you don’t get to pet a pony. You have to deal with it,” Kaufmann told Fox News.

“I’ve seen four or five schools in other states that are establishing ‘cry zones’ where they’re staffed by state grief counselors and kids can come cry out their sensitivity to the election results,” Kaufmann told the Register. “I find this whole hysteria to be incredibly annoying. People have the right to be hysterical … on their own time.”

The bill would penalize institutions that use taxpayer money on such pursuits at a rate of twice as the money that was spent on the safe spaces or whatever other steps were taken.

He also says that criminal penalties for highway blocking are necessary.

“That’s incredibly dangerous. What if someone had been trying to go to the hospital or was in an emergency and you had these spoiled brats blocking Interstate 80?” Kaufmann said.

While it may only be in the state of Iowa, it’s a start. We’ve heard so many examples this election year of how taxpayer money at state institutions is being abused to cater to the whims of a generation that’s been raised as emotional invalids.
