Kellyanne Conway Hints That Romney Is Further Away From Becoming Trump’s Sec. Of State

After reports surfaced that President-elect Donald Trump was considering former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney for secretary of state, Kellyanne Conway posted some cryptic messages that revealed which way things might go.

The U.K. Daily Mail explained that Conway received many negative messages on social media regarding Romney and the position, and Politico reported that Trump loyalists and Republican leaders warned Trump about choosing Romney for the important position.

Now Conway has weighed in, sharing Politico’s article on Twitter and added her own commentary.

“Receiving deluge of social media & private comms re: Romney Some Trump loyalists warn against Romney as sec of state,” she stated in her Nov. 24 tweet.

Directly after, Conway shared yet another cryptic tweet, saying “Kissinger & Schultz as Secs of State flew around the world less, counseled POTUS close to home more. And were loyal. Good checklist.”

That tweet specifically referred to what many Republican leaders and Trump supporters said should be a priority in future cabinet members: loyalty.

Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee explained to Fox News why Romney did not fit that description.

“It’s not about that I don’t care for Mitt personally, but I’m still very unhappy that Mitt did everything he could to derail Donald Trump,” he said. “He didn’t just go after him from a standpoint of saying ‘I disagree with his policy on immigration or I disagree with his policy on taxes’ He attacked him on a personal level about his character, integrity, his honor.”

With all this talk of loyalty, Trump should listen to the American people and realize perhaps hiring Romney is not in his best interests, or the interest of the country.
