President Donald Trump’s Twitter posts on Saturday alleging that then-President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower in the run-up to November’s election have upended the intelligence community and caused a political uproar.
On Sunday, Trump White House counselor Kellyanne Conway appeared on Fox News, where she directly challenged FBI director James Comey to release any information he has about the wiretapping allegations, Fox News reported.
“If Mr. Comey has something he’d like to say, I’m sure we’re all willing to hear it,” Conway told Fox News’ host Judge Jeanine Pirro on a special edition of “Justice With Judge Jeanine.” “All I saw was a published news report. I didn’t see a statement from him. I don’t know what Mr. Comey knows.”
Conway also called out Comey, stating that “we know he’s not shy,” a possible allusion to his highly public actions during the 2016 presidential campaign.
During the segment, Conway also called out the media for how they use anonymous sources, stating that reporters will are happy to quote anonymous sources if it is something bad about the administration, but they will never use those sources when they agree with Trump.
“We have a double standard here of anonymous sources,” she said. “The media are so quick to rely upon them for everything … that’s negative or derogatory towards this president. If it’s positive and exonerating they don’t want to hear about it.”

The American people have a right to know what evidence is out there showing that Obama wiretapped Trump tower. These are serious allegations that could shake the very foundations of our democracy.
Rather than playing politics and issuing deftly worded statements, Comey and the intelligence community should show the American people what they have to settle this issue once and for all. If they have knowledge about what Obama did or did not do, they have a responsibility to share it.
