Just what sort of absurdity are Democrats willing to believe in order to delegitimize Donald Trump’s presidency? I’m not asking that rhetorically — at least not anymore, after California Democrat and far-left weirdness magnet Rep. Maxine Waters implied the sordid sexual allegations in the discredited “Trump dossier” had actually been confirmed.
That’s pretty low. In fact, it’s scraping the bottom of the barrel. If only the Democrats could find out a way to get the bottom off of the barrel so they could sink even lower.
Alexandra Chalupa, a former Democrat National Committee official, found an answer to that problem: meeting with a convicted bomber and former drug dealer in order to get dirt on Trump.
According to The Daily Caller, Chalupa — an anti-Trump activist with ties to the government of Ukraine — met with so-called “Speedway Bomber” Brett Kimberlin and South African-born Israeli national Yoni Ariel.
Kimberlin was convicted of a series of bombings in Speedway, Indiana, in 1978. Police suspected Kimberlin had used the bombings to distract from the murder of a woman who was the mother of an employee at a business he used to launder money from his drug-dealing activities. Kimberlin was a suspect in that murder, according to Breitbart.
Later, according to Time, Kimberlin engaged in a campaign where he offered to pay anyone who had evidence that President George W. Bush rigged the 2004 election. If you’re beginning to notice a pattern here, you’re not alone.
Kimberlin was part of a plot involving the purchase of documents which, according to BuzzFeed, concluded that Rex Tillerson had made a “$1.6 billion wire transfer from petroleum giant ExxonMobil to a European office of a Chinese mining company, which a day later transferred 1.4 billion euros to the Trump Organization, the privately held conglomerate founded by President Trump.”
The documents were supposed to show that Tillerson had paid for the secretary of state job. Wonder of wonders, the documents were an elaborate (well, not that elaborate) hoax.
According to The Daily Caller, when Chalupa, Kimberlin, and Ariel met in Washington, Ariel informed them of the existence of the “documents,” and Kimberlin later agreed to pay the $9,000 asking price and Alex’s three plane tickets to Rome in order to procure them.
Needless to say, the whole thing didn’t quite turn out the way they had planned.
“I can neither confirm nor deny that I met with whom I met,” Ariel told The Daily Caller. However, he did say something interesting: “I had no idea of Brett’s background until the BuzzFeed article, and when I read it I was sort of surprised.”
“My initial thought, why the hell are the DNC people dealing with a guy like this?”
When you consider the fact that these are the people who looked at one of the principals behind the profoundly corrupt Clinton Foundation decided that person should be the president of the most powerful country in the world, Kimberlin’s past shouldn’t have been much of a surprise.
