Supreme Court nominee Judge Neil Gorsuch is one step away from being confirmed and Democrats are losing their minds. In one last effort to keep Gorsuch away from one of the highest seats of the land, they have accused him of plagiarism.

According to Breitbart, Gorusch was accused of plagiarizing an entire passage in his 2006 book, “The Future of Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia.”

BuzzFeed raised the accusation first, then Politico picked up the story and ran away with the details. They published Gorsuch’s passage side by side with the passage’s “original author,” Abigail Lawlis Kuzma,

Bloomberg contributor Noah Feldman then defended the accusations made by Democrats, saying it’s “fair game” to try and catch someone in plagiarism, and Gorsuch is no exception.

But Kuzma — the “original author” — came to the defense of Gorsuch.

“I have reviewed both passages and do not see an issue here, even though the language is similar,” she said, according to Breitbart, completely nullifying claims made by Democrats. “Given that these passages both describe the basic facts of the case, it would have been awkward and difficult for Judge Gorsuch to have used different language.”

White House spokesman Steven Cheung also spoke out about the claims, saying there was only one possible explanation for the absurd allegations.

“This false attack has been strongly refuted by highly regarded academic experts, including those who reviewed, professionally examined, and edited Judge Gorsuch’s scholarly writings, and even the author of the main piece cited in the false attack,” said Cheung.

“There is only one explanation for this baseless, last-second smear of Judge Gorsuch: those desperate to justify the unprecedented filibuster of a well-qualified and mainstream nominee to the Supreme Court.”

Of course, Senate Democrats voted on April 6 to filibuster Gorsuch’s confirmation to the Supreme Court. The latest accusation just goes to show that they will go to extreme and absurd lengths to further their own political agenda.

And the media showed how willing they are to go along.
