CNN Airs Live Interview With Senator Who Was Somewhere Else

As a U.S. senator representing Nebraska, Republican Ben Sasse knows how to cover a lot of ground in a hurry.

But even this was a stretch of the imagination.

At about 4:45 p.m. Eastern Time Tuesday, CNN‘s Jake Tapper was conducting what it billed on the screen as a live interview with Sasse.

At the same time, Sasse was visible on C-SPAN 3 as part of Judge Neil Gorsuch’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing.

The conflicting realities were first unmasked a few minutes later by Fox News host Neil Cavuto.

“That is one busy guy,” Cavuto said. “He pops up and splits himself into multiple locations.”

CNN was also quickly called out by many Twitter users.

One Twitter user wondered if some kind of mystical forces were at work.

Sasse responded with his own explanation for his ability to seemingly be in two places at once.

CNN offered viewers no comment of how Sasse could be in two places at one time.
