On Thursday, President Donald Trump went on a tear against the media during a 77-minute long solo press conference. Trump attacked the media’s coverage of his administration, and pointed out that the American people don’t trust the big news networks anymore.
Appearing on the “Hugh Hewitt Show” on Friday, Dickerson stated that Trump is not responsible for the media being loathed by millions of Americans — they did that all to themselves.
“Well, yes. I mean, yes, it’s true, and it’s not because of anything, obviously, Donald Trump did,” Dickerson stated in response to Hewitt’s about Americans distrusting the media.
“The press did all that good work ruining its reputation on its own, and we can have a long conversation about what created that.”
The 2016 election solidified how many Americans feel about the media. While we’ve all known the media is liberally biased, during the presidential election they didn’t even try to hide their bias anymore.

Most major networks, with the exception of Fox News, were openly rooting for Clinton. Some journalists even admitted they were doing everything within their power to destroy Trump’s candidacy.
Sadly, the media still hasn’t realized that that is the reason they aren’t trusted anymore. They are blaming Trump for the lack of trust Americans have in them, instead of looking in the mirror.
Perhaps if they tried something new — like objectively reporting the facts of the situation — the American people would start to trust them again.
If the media keeps up this partisan playbook that they are following, their ratings are going to continue to tank and Americans will simply go elsewhere for their news.
