BREAKING: Obama Makes Surprise Comment After Meeting With Trump… This Is Huge

As the reality of the electoral situation continued to settle in with Democrats still in a state of shocked denial, President Barack Obama invited President-elect Donald Trump to the White House Thursday morning.

What was initially intended to be a brief 10-15 minute meet-and-greet between the two men to get the transition period underway ended up turning into a nearly 90-minute “wide-ranging” discussion that reportedly covered an assortment of topics.

In remarks to the media after the meeting, Obama stated that he was “encouraged” by his conversation with Trump and rated it as “excellent” overall.

“My top priority in the next two months is to try to facilitate a transition that ensures our president-elect is successful,” proclaimed Obama.

“I believe it is important for all of us, regardless of party and regardless of political preferences, to now come together, work together to deal with the many challenges we face,” he added.

Trump responded by saying it was an honor to meet the president for the first time in the White House and was pleased with their conversation as well, noting that he “very much looked forward” to dealing with Obama and his team during the transition.

This was unexpected good news, as by all appearances it would seem as though a smooth transition of power from Obama to Trump has begun.

Hopefully this spirit of cooperation and goodwill will continue through to Inauguration Day, when the reins of authority will be handed over completely.
