BREAKING: Michigan Makes Announcement About Final Vote Count… Certifies Trump

Nearly three weeks after a surprising Election Day, the lone state remaining to declare an official victor in the presidential race has at last released its final vote count.

It was reported last week by the International Business Times that President-elect Donald Trump had prevailed in the Midwestern state over his Democrat rival, Hillary Clinton, but that tally had not been officially certified by the proper authorities at the time.

But now Michigan’s secretary of state and Board of Canvassers have officially concluded their tally of all the votes, and have declared Trump to be the winner by a margin of just over 10,000 votes.

According to Politico, Trump garnered the vote of 2,279,543 voters in the state, or roughly 47.6 percent of votes cast.

By comparison, Clinton won the vote of 2,268,839 Michiganders, or about 47.4 percent of the total vote.

This is the first time a Republican presidential nominee has won the state since George H.W. Bush did so in 1988 on the promise of continuing the peace and prosperity brought about under the leadership of President Ronald Reagan.

This official certification of Trump’s win also solidly places Michigan’s 16 electoral votes in Trump’s column ahead of the Dec. 19 meeting of the Electoral College to cast their votes representing their respective states.

As for the grumblings of disappointed Democrats and leftists about a possible recount in Michigan, the efforts launched by Green Party candidate Jill Stein could still succeed in sparking such a recount, though it seems unlikely that enough votes would be overturned or changed to make up the 10,704 vote margin.

Nevertheless, we will keep you informed of any further developments regarding the final vote count in Michigan if anything substantial should change.
