Assignment Has College Students Retelling 911 From Terrorist Perspective

Many U.S. colleges have become places where professors seem to take it upon themselves to promote liberal ideology and take every opportunity to criticize America, such as one assignment at Iowa State University where students had to write about 9/11, from the perspective of the terrorists.

“Write a paper that gives a historical account of 911 (sic) from the perspective of the terrorist network. In other words, how might Al Qaeda or a non-Western historian describe what happened,” read the instructions for the assignment, The College Fix reported.

How disgusting is that? A professor is seriously trying to get kids to write about 9/11 by examining what the terrorists behind it were thinking.

The school has tried to defend the assignment, show below, by claiming that it was meant to get students to “think critically.” They also had the audacity to compare the assignment to something that you might do when working for the CIA.

“This is similar to the vital work being performed in our nation’s diplomatic and intelligence operations, such as the Central Intelligence Agency, or the State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research,” Rob Schweers, ISU’s director of communications, stated.

That might be true, but those institutions don’t have a decades-long, well-documented history of fomenting anti-American feelings the way America’s college campuses do. And there are other ways to get students to think critically other than have them try to justify the most horrific attack ever committed in the United States.

There is no reason to have this assignment, and there is absolutely no justification for it. Understanding history and culture is one thing; requiring students to actually empathize with the enemy is another thing entirely.

Colleges in America on the most liberal campuses can represent everything that is wrong with education in this country. Too many students aren’t exposed to differing political ideas, and all many colleges do is focus on proving a sheltered environment rather than challenging the beliefs of the snowflakes who attend.

The people who attacked us on 9/11 were pure evil. Even college professors should be able to understand that.
