WikiLeaks Discredits Report On Trump As Clearly Bogus Pseudo-Intelligence

WikiLeaks on Wednesday demolished a purported intelligence report on President-elect Donald Trump as having “no credibility.”

In a series of tweets, the website, which publishes leaked information, said a 35-page document that made allegations about Trump’s business ties to Russia and his private conduct was “not an intelligence report.”

“35 page PDF published by Buzzfeed on Trump is not an intelligence report. Style, facts & dates show no credibility,” WikiLeaks tweeted.

In addition to being published by the website BuzzFeed, the report was the subject of media coverage by outlets including CNN and The New York Times. Media outlets covering the story said that although its veracity was questionable, the fact that the existence of the report may have been shared in an intelligence briefing received by Trump made it news.

However, WikiLeaks sent out multiple tweets to debunk the document.

In its reporting on the document shared by BuzzFeed, The New York Times called it information “generated by political operatives seeking to derail Mr. Trump’s candidacy.”

The Times noted that the report’s contents “began circulating in the fall and were widely known among journalists and politicians in Washington.” It said that while the report could not be confirmed, intelligence agencies thought its existence should be shared with Trump.

Trump and his team have denied the allegations contained in the material posted by BuzzFeed.

A spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin also denied the material came from Russia.

“The Kremlin has no compromising dossier on Trump, such information isn’t consistent with reality and is nothing but an absolute fantasy,” said Dmitry Peskov.
