White House in Lockdown After Man Shows Up with Suspicious Package

The White House was on lockdown Tuesday morning after authorities discovered a man with a suspicious package on White House grounds. The lockdown was in effect until 11:30 a.m., but more details were unfolding as investigations into the incident continued.

At around 10:30 a.m., Charlie Spiering, White House correspondent for Breitbart News, tweeted that the press room at the White House had been secured.

More details emerged when a spokesperson for the Secret Service divulged that a man approached an officer at the White House and made “suspicious comments” while holding a package.

The lockdown was soon implemented, and no one was allowed to leave the White House while the Secret Service cleared the lawns. Road closures were issued while investigators looked into the matter.

Then Secret Service tweeted that they had a suspect in custody.

As of mid-afternoon it appeared that a bomb squad was still investigating the suspicious package, The Hill reported.

This lockdown did not affect President Donald Trump’s planned event with the Fraternal Order of Police, which was scheduled for 11:00 a.m.

“I made a crucial pledge: We will always support the incredible men and women of law enforcement. I will always have your back 100 percent,” Trump said at the event.

This incident is definitely disturbing, with so many liberals consistently looking for a way to bring President Trump down; and with the recent terror attacks, a situation like this cannot be taken lightly. The Secret Service definitely did its job today.
