Unknown Man Saves Bus Driver From Attacker by Beating Him With Cane

A mysterious Missouri man unwittingly became a local hero in Kansas City after he courageously used his cane to protect a city bus driver from a thug who had suddenly grabbed her from behind and wrapped his arms around her neck.

“Get your hands off me!” the bus driver, identified as Lynn Judge, yelled in shock when the attack initially began about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, according to KTVI.

Without a moment to lose, the unknown hero leaped up from his seat and rushed to the front of the bus with his handy cane by his side.

Watch what happened next, recorded by the vehicle’s surveillance camera:

The mysterious man basically pummeled the attacker into submission, forcing him to lie on the floor of the bus and wait for the police to arrive. He even broke his cane on the criminal during the fight.

“If you raise up again, I’m going to hit you!” the man kept yelling.

Authorities arrived soon enough and arrested the thug, after which the unnamed good Samaritan disappeared from the scene.

There was just one problem: Both the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and the bus driver wanted to express their gratitude.

“Without him, our operator could have been harmed even more, so we really want to reach out to him and bring him in and thank him,” Kansas City Area Transportation Authority officer Bobby Edwards explained to news station KFOR.

Fast forward to Monday, when the good Samaritan was finally identified as 56-year-old Rodney Goldman and a reunion was set up between him and the bus driver.

Watch what happened at the reunion below:

“Rodney, I just wanted to say I’m really thankful for you being there and stepping up,” the bus driver, Judge, emotionally said to Goldman at the meeting. “I just really want to thank you.”

“I’m going to be on the bus, and if it happens again, I’m going to do the same thing,” he answered.

Talk about a class act. As a reward for his good deed, Goldman has reportedly been awarded two new canes and a lifetime bus pass on RideKC.

Truthfully, though, in a time when we need more people willing to step in to stop a crime in its tracks, he deserves a lot more than that.
