Academy Award winner Jon Voight had the crowd roaring with his message at the “Make America Great Again: Welcome Celebration” at the Lincoln Memorial on Thursday.
The actor told thousands of cheering supporters that he was happy to be there to welcome everyone to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Voight, an outspoken Trump supporter, noted that the election season was “a barrage of propaganda that left us all breathless with anticipation, not knowing if God could reverse all the negative lies against Mr. Trump, whose only desire was to make America great again.”
“He certainly didn’t need this job,” Voight said.
“And yes, God answered all our prayers,” he continued.
“The Champ” star said that Abraham Lincoln is smiling over the country, knowing “America will be saved by an honest and good man who will work for all the people, no matter their creed or color.”
He also told the crowd that Trump was an answer to the problems our country has been experiencing.
“We need to get behind him. The Republicans need to unite behind this man. We need somebody to go in and reconstruct us in a sort of way, get us back to where we were, who we need to be,” he said.
He couldn’t be more right about that.
The actor concluded his message by introducing Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Sam Moore, who performed “America the Beautiful.”
Take a look at Voight’s speech below:
Voight’s message is one that everyone, especially liberal Hollywood celebrities, should listen to. It’s time for Americans who didn’t support Trump to stop whining about the outcome of the election and let Trump do what he said he would do.
Knowing what we know about liberals, it could take a long time for that to happen, but we can always hope.
