VIRAL: Trump Says He’s Bringing “Merry Christmas” Back… Gets 20,000 Likes EVERY HOUR

If there is one thing we can say with certainty about President-elect Donald Trump, it is that he doesn’t generally buy into the political correctness of the liberal left, and in fact is much more apt to contend against it than to ignore or embrace it.

Case in point is Trump’s veritable call to arms in opposition to the left’s “War on Christmas,”  a movement that would have us all eschew phrases like “merry Christmas” in favor of more neutral and “non-offensive” phrases like “happy holidays.”

Trump reiterated his stance with a post to social media Sunday that went wildly viral, garnering roughly 22,000 likes per hour.

On his Facebook page, Trump wrote, “We’re going to start saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again!

According to TheBlaze, Trump touched on the topic during his recent “Thank You” rally appearance in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he wished the crowd a “merry Christmas” after taking the stage.

“And merry Christmas everybody! Merry Christmas. Right? Merry Christmas,” said Trump to wild cheers. “They reminded me. We’re going to start saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again.”

The huge response to Trump’s repeated statements about Christmas show that a good portion of the country agrees with him that the progressive left has pushed too far in its secular efforts at removing Christ as the reason for the season, a case made annually by Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.

To be sure, there is nothing inherently wrong with wishing others “happy holidays,” particularly if it is known that they do not celebrate Christmas, as that is the respectful and “tolerant” thing to do with those who hold a different set of values and beliefs.

But that sort of tolerance must go both ways, and the non-Christian, non-Christmas-celebrating individuals must also be respectful of those who do celebrate the season, a big part of which is wishing everyone a “merry Christmas” and a happy New Year.
