Spicer Responds to Reporters Asking About Trumps Golf Outings

Whereas former President Barack Obama constantly traveled to luxurious locations to golf for pleasure, President Donald Trump often visits his Mar-a-Lago golf resort in Florida for an entirely different reason — one that, not shockingly, the liberal media appears unable to grasp.

In the past few weeks, for example, numerous media outlets have taken Trump to task for his Palm Beach excursions, claiming that they showed a deep strain of hypocrisy: “Trump always complained about Obama golfing, but he’s doing the same thing!” they constantly whined, to paraphrase.

When a reporter chose to confront White House press secretary Sean Spicer about these very concerns Monday, claiming that Trump’s trips were equivalent to those of Obama, the president’s number one spokesperson quickly and once and for all put these disingenuous argument to rest.

He noted, first and foremost, that “(h)ow you use the game of golf is something” that ought to be taken into consideration, according to a White House transcript. He cited Trump’s Mar-a-Lago meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as an example.

“(Y)ou saw him utilize this as an opportunity with Prime Minister Abe to help foster deeper relationships in Southeast Asia — in Asia, rather — and have a growing relationship that’s going to help U.S. interests,” he said

“Secondly, we went down to … his club in Virginia, and I remember so many people jumping to the conclusion that he’s going down and playing golf,” Spicer continued. “Just because you go somewhere doesn’t necessarily mean that you did that.”

Listen to the press secretary’s full reply below:

Whereas Obama golfed for pleasure, Trump golfs for business, because he’s a businessman and used to having to make every minute of his day productive. Is this really that difficult to understand?

For the average liberal pundit, who lives in a safe space brimming with trigger warnings, this apparently is simply too much to grasp. Just yesterday, for example, “very fake news” CNN ran two separate stories (here and here) complaining about the president’s golf excursions.

It just never ends with the liberal media, does it?
