U.S. Begins Identifying Al-Qaeda Contacts Discovered in Yemen Raid

US Begins Identifying Al-Qaeda Contacts Discovered in Yemen Raid

Some mainstream media reports that there was no significant outcome from the Navy SEALs’ January raid in Yemen have been proven false, as new information deems the raid was vital to obtaining key intelligence about Al Qaeda that’s already being put to work in the war against terrorism.

In the aftermath of the action, according to CNN, U.S. officials are identifying and tracking hundreds of contacts and names of individuals in Al Qaeda to head off potential threats of terrorist strikes in Europe.

As CNN put it: “The terabyte’s worth of intelligence gathered from computers and cellphones is now being reviewed at the National Media Exploitation Center outside Washington, which analyzes documents, electronic media, cellphones, video and audio tapes seized on overseas missions.”

President Donald Trump previously came under fire for that raid, during which Navy SEAL Chief Petty Officer William “Ryan” Owens. Critics called the raid “unnecessary” and were quick to judge its outcome.

However, Vice President Mike Pence told “CBS This Morning”  on Wednesday that he believed the victory of gaining such intelligence would lead to future victories for the U.S.

“Secretary Mattis, as recently yesterday, confirmed again to the administration that there was significant intelligence that was gathered that will lead to American success and to the safety and security of the American people,” Pence said.

“This was a strike directed at obtaining information about Al Qaeda operating out of Yemen. We do believe it will lay a foundation for victories in the future,” he said.

And Trump himself addressed the raid during his first speech at a joint session of Congress.

During his speech, President Trump stated: “I just spoke to our great Gen. Mattis, just now, who reconfirmed that — and I quote — ‘Ryan was a part of a highly successful raid that generated large amounts of vital intelligence that will lead to many more victories in the future against our enemies.’ Ryan’s legacy is etched into eternity.”

Chief Petty Officer Owens did not die for naught, no matter what the mainstream media might want you to believe. If even the leftist hacks at CNN are willing to admit the value of the raid during which he died, you know there’s no denying it.
