President-elect Donald J. Trump’s Presidential Inaugural Committee announced details about the event that suggested the focus would be slightly different from previous inaugurations, and for good reasons.

Boris Epshteyn, the director of communications for the PIC, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview that the inauguration would be “all about the people” and will include less celebration than past events.

“It’s not about any one celebrity or any one entertainer or about any of those folks sipping champagne and cocktails somewhere in the Hamptons or in Beverly Hills,” Epshteyn said. “It’s about the American people.”

Epshteyn told CNN earlier in the week something similar: “We are not putting on Woodstock. We are not putting on Summer Jam. We are putting on an inauguration.”

“We’re so proud of the amount of support and outreach we’ve received from all over the country. This inaugural will represent the people,” he added. “That’s one, and two it’s about getting to work right away.”

Just about everything will be scaled down. There will be three official inaugural balls as opposed to the 10 balls celebrating President Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration.

Alex Stroman, deputy director of communications for the PIC, said that in addition to limited number of events, the parade from the Capitol to the White House on Inauguration Day would be shorter than it has been in the past.

“That will allow Trump to get right to work at the White House on day one, before he goes to the balls later that night,” Stroman said.

While Trump wants to honor tradition, he also wants to let the American people he is interested in getting to work, Stroman added.

Stroman also said that the committee aws expecting half a million people to make their way to Washington to witness the event. For those that won’t make it, the plan was to use social media and news coverage to “make sure everybody across the country has a seat to this historic day.”

It’s good to see Trump cutting back on the pomp and circumstance so he can do what the people elected him to do.
