Trump Rolls Back 4 Obama Era Regulations Brings Jobs Back to America

President Donald Trump took another ax to his predecessor’s failed agenda Monday by signing four bills reversing draconian regulations put in place by former President Barack Obama. The casualties:

Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Rule

The first bill undid Obama’s Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces rule, which, while sounding positive, would have “required federal contractors and subcontractors to publicly disclose any violations or alleged violations of labor laws — regardless of whether they had been adjudicated — when bidding on federal contracts worth more than $500,000,” according to Bass, Berry & Sims PLC.

The rule was so bad that a district judge reportedly granted a preliminary injunction against it late last year, citing its violations of due process, the First Amendment, the Federal Arbitration Act and more. It was a bad rule that needed to go.

Planning 2.0 Rule

The second bill cancelled the Bureau of Land Management’s Planning 2.0 rule, which had granted the federal government added control over approximately 245 million acres of public land, as reported by Tri-State Livestock News.

“If you are from the west, you understand the great impact that rules over federal land management can have, whether you are dealing with grazing, energy and mineral development, or recreation,” Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi reportedly remarked about the rule’s repeal.

“This Obama administration rule, finished right before he left office, would shift the power away from state and local government and into the hands of Washington, D.C.,” he added.

Every Student Succeeds Act & Higher Education Act

Tied to both the Every Student Succeeds Act & Higher Education Act, the final two rules repealed by President Trump undid a badly thought-out program that “wrongly tied ratings of teacher-training programs to the performance of teachers’ students on standardized tests,” according to the Chicago Tribune.

The program was disliked by teachers, colleges and states, all of whom argued that it was both expensive and onerous.

In trying to micromanage everything, Obama screwed up the economy and the education system in myriad ways. And the best way to ameliorate the problems created by the former president was to pull back and let these sectors function on their own without government interference.

As a successful businessman, Trump clearly realizes this. Good.
