Trump Publicly Humiliates Rahm Emanuel by Telling Truth About Chicago Murder Rates

For seven years that have been among the bloodiest in Chicago‘s violence-ridden history, Mayor Rahm Emanuel has operated under an inexplicable cloak of protection from President Barack Obama’s administration. As Obama’s former White House chief of staff, he has remained largely immune from criticism from either the White House or the mainstream media.

Emanuel met with President-elect Donald Trump in New York on Dec. 7. His concern? The possibility of Trump deporting illegal immigrants from Chicago, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.

The mayor of the most crime-ridden, murderous city in the United States, a city breaking its own records for violence, has a precious audience with the incoming leader of the free world, and the biggest thing on his mind is protecting illegal immigrants.

In case Emanuel underestimated Trump, the President-elect made it clear Monday that he’s not going to be allowed to fly under the radar any longer.

The violence in Chicago is “spiraling out of control,” according to a report by ABC News. In 2016 alone, there were 4,331 shooting incidents and 762 homicides. This grim total works out to an average of more than two murders and 11 shootings daily.

This is the highest wave of violence in the Windy City in 20 years.

Homicides in Chicago jumped to their highest level since 1996, when 796 were recorded, according to historical data from the Chicago Police Department. Even scarier, last year’s total represents a 57 percent increase over 2015, the biggest spike in murders in Chicago in 60 years, according to the Associated Press.

The vast majority of crimes are committed by gang members using illegal weapons. Chicago is famously home to some of the toughest gun control laws in the country, leaving everyday citizens largely defenseless against the crime wave.

We’re no supporters of federal intervention in local matters, but at some point Emmanuel and his fellow travelers on the left need to wake up and see the harm that their gun control laws are doing to their cities and their people.

Either that, or those people need to vote them out of office and regain the liberty to protect themselves, because the city government obviously isn’t up to the task.
