He’s making a list, checking it twice, and certainly looking for who was naughty and nice. That isn’t Santa Claus we’re talking about; it’s President-elect Donald Trump.
At a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday, Trump told a very excited crowd that he had compiled a list of 10 businesses in America and was contacting them to try to convince them to keep their jobs in America, the U.K. Daily Mail reported.
“I actually love calling these companies. I say give me a list of 10 companies that are leaving,” Trump said, recounting how he picks up the phone and calls these companies.
“I actually love calling these companies and saying, ‘Hi.’ And I get the president of this company,” Trump continued. “I say, ‘Hi, how are you doing?’”
So far, Trump has followed through on his campaign promise to keep jobs in America. Trump’s biggest deal so far was with Carrier to keep almost 1,000 jobs from leaving Indiana for Mexico — a deal that caused Trump’s popularity to surge.
The Trump rally wasn’t the first time Trump had floated a list of businesses he wants to talk to about keeping their jobs in America. In his interview with Time after being named Person of the Year, Trump had his chief of staff, Reince Preibus, get him a list.
“Hey, Reince, I want to get a list of companies that have announced they’re leaving,” Trump said to Preibus while he was being interviewed. “I can call them myself. Five minutes apiece. They won’t be leaving. OK?”
Trump has promised to revitalize America and bring manufacturing jobs back to this country. So far, he appears to be keeping his word by working night and day to find the best people to lead this country — people who know how to run a business and how to negotiate a good deal.
