He did it again.
For the second time since his election, President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday found a way to leave the media pack behind as he slipped away from his Mar-a-Lago estate near Palm Beach, Fla., to play golf at his club in nearby Jupiter, Fla.
The media pool covering Trump was unaware of the outing until after Dr. Eric Kaplan tweeted several photos, which he later deleted.
“President out with about 25 Secret Service, he can play and would beat Obama at golf as well,” Kaplan said in one tweet.
“Talking to President, he shot 75 was a great host and in great spirits,” he said in another.
Transition aide Stephanie Grisham called Trump’s getaway a “last-minute trip.”
Grisham told the media that aides did not know about the trip and “appreciate everyone’s understanding.”
“We are in the home stretch of this transition period and don’t anticipate any additional situations like this between now and inauguration,” she said in a statement.
“We hope this one incident doesn’t negate all the progress we have made and look forward to continuing the great relationships we have built,” she said.
Trump isn’t first PEOTUS to ditch press pool. Obama did in Hawaii in ’08 — but pool was fast assembled to catch up https://t.co/WT2QpLy8x1

It is customary to have a media pool traveling with a president or president-elect in the event of sudden, breaking news that would affect the president or the country.
In November, members of the press were irked when Trump and his family slipped away unannounced for dinner at a Manhattan restaurant while the media were camped out around New York City’s Trump Tower.
“One week after the election, it is unacceptable for the next president of the United States to travel without a regular pool to record his movements and inform the public about his whereabouts,” said White House Correspondents Association president Jeff Mason of Reuters.
