Ever since taking the oath of office, President Donald Trump has moved at a breakneck pace to follow through on his campaign promises and to show the American people that he is serious about the well-being of the country.
His efforts appeared to be paying off, because his popularity was slowly climbing after his first week-plus in office, Politico reported.
A new Politico/Morning Consultant Poll showed that Trump’s approval rating was nearing 50 percent, the highest since he was sworn in.
Of those surveyed, 49 percent approved of how Trump was doing, while 41 percent disapproved. This showed a significant improvement for Trump, despite some of the outcry over actions he had taken so far.
This poll was conducted from Jan. 26 to Jan. 28. Trump signed his executive order on immigration on Jan. 27, so it was unlikely that this poll registered the public’s full reaction to the order. The next poll released should have a clearer picture of what Americans think of it.
Liberals will undoubtedly be furious to see Trump’s popularity actually increasing. What they still don’t understand is that the American people don’t care what weird thing Trump tweets early in the morning — they care about results.
Trump has made it abundantly clear that he is focusing on working with everyone he can to bring jobs back to America, defeat our enemies and restore American confidence.
Undoubtedly there will be many hurdles that Trump will have to clear in the days and weeks ahead — some caused by international crises and some caused by the Democrats — but we have no doubt that Trump will be able to manage.
