After a rough 0-for-8 start to spring training, Tim Tebow finally has his first hit.
In his second at bat of Monday’s Mets vs. Marlins matchup, Tebow poked a Kyle Lobstein pitch between the shortstop and third baseman for a single.
The crowd erupted in loud cheers as Tebow stood on first.

While one hit isn’t going to put Tebow onto the Mets roster, it is certainly a very good sign. While his critics will probably keep up their irrational hatred of the former Heisman winner, the hit shows that he’s progressing and has at least some potential as a baseball player.
The hit wasn’t the only highlight of the day for Tebow fans. While playing left field he made a nice diving catch on a Justin Bour short fly ball.

Blessed! Tim Tebow just made a diving catch in left field to rob Justin Bour of a hit. “Good job, Tim!” yells a fan. #Mets

All things considered, it was definitely a positive day for Tim Tebow. This could be the type of game that helps him build confidence on the baseball field.
