Steve Bannon Tells Mainstream Media That Its Better if They Just Shut Up

The moment President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager and current chief strategist Steve Bannon picked up the phone earlier this week for an interview with journalist Michael M. Grynbaum, the liberal media should have known that they were in trouble — big trouble.

During the interview, which was published Thursday in The New York Times, the former executive chair of Breitbart News excoriated — for a lack of a more damaging term — the entire liberal mainstream media for its pitiful bias and ultimate humiliation.

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile,” Bannon said during the call. “I want you to quote this: The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”

“The elite media got it dead wrong — 100 percent dead wrong,” he continued, referring to the fact that the entire media had automatically assumed that Trump would lose the 2016 presidential election to Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton.

It was “a humiliating defeat that they will never wash away, that will always be there,” he added. “The mainstream media has not fired or terminated anyone associated with following our campaign. Look at the Twitter feeds of those people: They were outright activists of the Clinton campaign.”

Interestingly, the Times’ added this little parenthetical notation beside the quote from Bannon: “He did not name specific reporters or editors.”

The paper basically tried to surreptitiously diminish Bannon’s claim. As has been reported by Observer, there was plenty of evidence that so-called journalists “created propaganda for the Clinton campaign rather than independent journalism.”

Moreover, a study by the liberal Center for Public Integrity published last year showed that 96 percent of all campaign donations given by “journalists, reporters, news editors or television news anchors” went to Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Nice try, though, New York Times.

“That’s why you have no power,” Bannon concluded. “You were humiliated.”

And not just once but multiple times, including even this Thursday, when The Times disingenuously tried to dismiss Steve Bannon’s completely legitimate point. Apparently, the mainstream media is utterly incapable of learning from its past mistakes.
