During last week’s episode of “Saturday Night Live,” comedian Aziz Ansari compared President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” to a set of misogynist lyrics from a rap song produced three years ago by singer Chris Brown.
“Donald Trump is basically the Chris Brown of politics,” Ansari quipped, according to USA Today. “‘Make America great again’ is his ‘These Hoes Ain’t Loyal.’”
Actor, director and comedian Michael Rapaport was not impressed by this comparison, as noted by Breitbart.
“F*** you, you little politically correct f***, you,” he raged on Wednesday’s edition of his “I Am Rapaport” podcast. “I’m not saying he’s not funny. I’m not saying he’s not talented. And I’m not saying his voice isn’t warranted, but you are not holier than thou.”
Neither was Ansari honest, as there was no correlation whatsoever between Trump and Brown, despite his claims otherwise.
“I’m sure there’s a lot of people who voted for Trump the same way a lot of people listen to the music of Chris Brown, where it’s like, ‘Hey, man! I’m just here for the tunes. I’m just here for the tunes! I don’t know about that other stuff. I just like the dancing and the music. I don’t condone the extracurriculars,’” he said on SNL.
By “extracurriculars,” he meant Brown’s past history of spewing misogynistic lyrics and physically attacking women. Eight years ago he was charged with two felonies for having punched his then-girlfriend singer Rihanna so hard that she developed a black eye, according to Billboard magazine.
The president, on the other hand, has never once been charged with a crime, let alone arrested.
Of course, Ansari was just trying to make a joke, since he is a comedian. It’s just a shame he’s not better at his job.
