Snowfall In The Sahara Silences Global Warming Narrative

The theory of global warming has suffered a devastating setback this week courtesy Mother Nature, who for whatever reason chose to pepper the Sahara desert with snow.

But this was not just any ordinary snow. It was in fact the first snow the desert had experienced in 37 years, according to the U.K. Independent.

“Everyone was stunned to see snow falling in the desert — it is such a rare occurrence,” said amateur photographer Karim Bouchetata, who happened to be present in the region Monday as the snow hit near the Algerian town of Ain Sefra. “It looked amazing as the snow settled on the sand.”

Take a look at one of the photos Bouchetata took:

There was just one huge problem. The sudden appearance of snow in this desert region of Africa completely belied claims made by both liberals and the Obama administration that Earth was experiencing “rising global temperatures.”

“The evidence is clear,” a snippet from the Environmental Protection Agency’s webpage on global warming read. “Rising global temperatures have been accompanied by changes in weather and climate. Many places have seen changes in rainfall, resulting in more floods, droughts, or intense rain, as well as more frequent and severe heat waves.”

What about more snow?

“The planet’s oceans and glaciers have also experienced some big changes — oceans are warming and becoming more acidic, ice caps are melting, and sea levels are rising,” the text continued. “As these and other changes become more pronounced in the coming decades, they will likely present challenges to our society and our environment.”

Except that the ongoing evidence has repeatedly shown that no such things are occurring. Take for instance what occurred last winter, when the country was pummeled by snow and freezing temperatures — despite liberals having claimed that winters were to grow weaker, not stronger, because of global warming.

Like James Taylor, president of the Spark of Freedom Foundation, wrote last winter in Forbes, “Yet another bitterly cold, snowy winter is destroying alarmist global warming claims, proving once again that over-the-top global warming predictions are proving no more scientifically credible than snake oil.”

And wouldn’t you know it — the same thing has happened again, but this time in Africa. Go figure.
