Rapper Snoop Dogg offered San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick some solid advice that might actually be worth considering.
During the Fox Sports show “Undisputed” on Wednesday, the rapper offered praise to Kaepernick for standing up for what he believed in, but also said the football star should consider choosing between playing football and being a “revolutionary.”
The musician also said he understood where Kaepernick was coming from, but he didn’t believe the quarterback could play football with all of its rules and regulations and be a revolutionary at the same time.
“I do appreciate the fact that he brought something to America’s attention that needed to be brought to their attention as far as knowing that there is a serious problem that we’re dealing with outside of these sports and these activities that we do, that we have a great time, that we celebrate,” Snoop said.
The music producer also said he appreciated the football star for “doing his part,” but it was now up to the world to recognize that and do their part “because he’s only one person.”
Snoop Dogg added that Kaepernick needed to have just one focus in order to be effective.
“He’s got to be back to what he’s doing, and if this is what he wants to do, he needs to leave football out of it and just do it full-time,” he said.

This is good advice, as many fans don’t typically watch sports to find out where players stand politically. In fact, most people would probably prefer that politics be left out of sports.
Most people would agree that Kaepernick is free to speak his mind, but the forum in which he has chosen to do so isn’t the best one to get his message across.
