Interview summaries and notes recently released from the FBI’s investigation into former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s improper use of a private email address give the appearance that top State Department official Patrick Kennedy sought a “quid pro quo” deal with the FBI.

“In return for altering the classification (of certain emails), the possibility of additional slots for the FBI at missions overseas was discussed,” Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz told Fox News.

In other words, while being interviewed by the FBI, Kennedy, the State Department’s undersecretary for management, allegedly offered to approve overseas posts in exchange for agents reclassifying some of Clinton’s emails.

Moreover, according to Breitbart, during Clinton’s tenure at the State Department, Kennedy exchanged emails with Clinton Foundation staff to discuss “preparations for an upcoming Congressional hearing,” presumably about the 2012 Benghazi terror attack.

It seems pretty clear that the undersecretary was a pal of Clinton’s and wanted to make life a little easier for her in regard to the litany of investigations into her corrupt behavior.

In a statement to Fox News, the FBI has reportedly denied the allegations of a quid pro quo, though it did admit to having been asked to “review and make classification determinations” on at least one of Clinton’s emails.

“A senior State Department official requested the FBI re-review that email to determine whether it was in fact classified or whether it might be protected from release under a different FOIA exemption,” the FBI wrote in the statement.

It also claimed that the discussion about overseas posts were merely coincidental.

“Having been previously unsuccessful in attempts to speak with the senior State official, during the same conversation, the FBI official asked the State Department official if they would address a pending, unaddressed FBI request for space for additional FBI employees assigned abroad,” the statement continued.

If the FBI still had even a shred of integrity left, the American people might believe it. But since it has already been shown to be nothing more than a weasel den, it makes more sense to assume that the FBI is again lying — this time in a bid to protect both itself and Undersecretary Kennedy.
