Sierra Club President’s Insult of Trump Admin Backfires

Sierra Club Presidents Insult of Trump Admin Backfires

The know-nothing president of a radical left-wing environmental group humiliated himself on social media Thursday, and learned firsthand why he ought to stick to what he knows best — spreading fake talking points about the alleged threat of climate change.

As reported by The Daily Caller, Sierra Club President Aaron Mair tweeted that in President Donald Trump’s administration, “diplomatic lying isn’t just an art form, it’s full on Baghdad Bob,” referring to the former Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf, who rose to notoriety for mouthing endless propaganda before and during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

But Mair screwed up royally by then linking his already spurious Twitter claim, which has since been deleted, to a video hosted on YouTube titled, “Journalist Can’t Contain Laughter As State Dept Claims US Doesn’t Back Coups.”

That video may be seen below:

Notice the problem? The liar speaking in the video was Jen Psaki, who served as a State Department spokeswoman during the tenure of former President Barack Hussein Obama.

And the lie she spread that eventful day in 2015 revolved around a claim made at the time by Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro that the Obama administration — not the Trump administration — had attempted to foment a coup against his government.

In trying to rebut the Venezuelan socialist’s accusation, Psaki argued that America had a “long-standing policy” of not intervening in Latin America. But as noted by Crooks and Liars, which is a very far-left blog, the spokeswoman’s claim was patently false.

“If the plot is true it will be the second attempt by the US to foment a coup in Venezuela this century,” the blog quoted a commentator known as FireDogLake as having written. “The first being an amazingly blatant attempt in 2002 against President Hugo Chavez which the White House itself publicly supported before the coup was reversed and Chavez was returned to power.”

Someone lied, all right, but it certainly wasn’t current White House press secretary Sean Spicer.

And had know-nothing Aaron Mair performed just a modicum of research, he would have known that. As someone who refuses to even consider that the theory of climate change might be wrong, however, the man clearly doesn’t care much for research.

And as someone who reportedly once tweeted that former Cuban dictator Fidel Castro had “more honor” than Trump, this bonehead truly is a know-nothing.
