SHOCK: Black Cops More Likely Than White Cops to Shoot Black Suspects

As former President Ronald Reagan said, “Facts are stubborn things.”

The liberal narrative of black Americans being disproportionately killed by white cops has been proven incorrect by three separate studies. Furthermore, data proved that white officers were statistically less likely to use deadly force when it’s needed, for fear of media reprisals.

The Black Lives Matter movement has consistently made race an issue in officer-involved shootings, targeting white officers for “victimizing” black people. The truth is that black suspects are more likely to be shot by black officers than by officers of any other race or ethnic background, The Washington Times reported.

In a sample of 2,699 fatal police killings between 2013 and 2015, the Crime Prevention Research Center found that the odds of a black suspect being killed by a black police officer were consistently greater than the odds of a black suspect being killed by a white officer.

The study also revealed that white suspects were killed nearly twice as often as black suspects. In the sample of those killed by the police, 45 percent were white, 25 percent were black, and 16 percent were Hispanic.

“White officers are significantly less likely than black officers to kill black suspects, and they are not statistically significantly different from Hispanic, other race, and unknown-race police officers,” the study said, excepting one model where Hispanic officers were marginally more likely to kill black suspects.

Another recent study from Washington State University-Spokane, reported by Police One, showed that white officers tend to hesitate significantly longer to shoot an armed black suspect as compared to an armed white suspect.

A “potential explanation,” speculated Dr. Lois James, head of the study, may be a “behavioral counter-bias or administrative effect,” that is, an extra caution by officers against impulsive reactions to black suspects because of “real-world concern over discipline, liability or public disapproval.”

Roland G. Fryer Jr., an economics professor at Harvard, examined shootings in 10 major police departments in Texas, Florida and California. His team studied 1,332 shootings over a 5-year period, according to The New York Times.

They found that in Houston, Texas, where violence against police officers has been rampant, both black and white officers were 20 percent less likely to shoot black suspects even in situations where lethal force may have been justified.

“It is the most surprising result of my career,” he said of the study.

This is not at all what the liberal media want you to believe. It’s time we support our police officers and stop swallowing the liberal narrative.
